How to Repair Bifold Door Top Roller Guide

If your bifold doors are sticking and squeaking, they may require some maintenance. You may need to clean, lubricate or adjust them. The issue could be caused by a loose screw on the top pivot or by the top guide roller.

Take the door off

Installing an interior set of bifold door repairs doors might appear to be a complicated and difficult project, but it's actually quite easy for DIYers with a bit of experience. A bifold door may also scrape against the floor when it closes and opens. This can happen after installing carpet or other flooring materials that require the doors to be raised slightly for proper clearance. The removal of the screw that adjusts the bottom pivot and loosening the top track's mounting screws and moving the anchor/pivot pin is typically enough to eliminate this issue.

A new set of top roller guides is a low-cost solution to a problem that could make bifold doors difficult to operate. They're usually available at your local hardware store in the door section, but they're also accessible on the internet through a variety of sellers. In addition to a brand-new top guide for rollers, you'll require a small bottle of Elmer's wood glue which is sold in large box stores, as well as a squeeze clamp.
