WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item upgrades by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them from item upgrader mod upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. button, which will display an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item upgrader kit slot and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for example. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available at many locations on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrading increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specialized, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System that was introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.

The first thing to note is that crests are only able to be spent on equipment of a particular rank, and each rank has different requirements for upgrading. Utilizing these new currencies isn't that difficult, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. For example, once an item level upgrade (Full Write-up) is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change lets players upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the Best item upgrade equipment you have, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
