WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boost in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied on any kind of armor or weapons. The Item Level Upgrade used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item upgrade from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which displays a preview of the item upgrades at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For instance weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a specific number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character, that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality gear.
