WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in specific statistics. Each upgrade increases the item level upgrade level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item level upgrade (such a good point) upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade item your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current item level of the equipment being upgraded but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than bracers, or gloves. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, when a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they only have one use. It's best to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is especially relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
