World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as damage from PvE and crit chance.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.

Item upgrading costs crests and the current level of the Best item upgrader. The cost increases as the item level rises.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment, as well as some of the non-ascended back items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it's applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of that equipment with less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defense attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be dropped at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're not sure of how much it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item upgrader kit can be expensive, and it is possible that the item will be obsolete or even break if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also offer an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.

You'll often see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the most effective way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes more quickly.

Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

The use of the Glyph will boost all nodes that are linked to it, and it is recommended to position your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by adding upgraded components. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item upgrader comes with an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is leveled up.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced with a different item upgrader of the same type. The same armor will receive the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item comes with its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough tokens to do so. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and completely different bonuses. This can be useful however it shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth as much as 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The upgrader for items allows players to increase the level of their equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can result in the item reverting to its original condition which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item does not upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero quality items have lower costs per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
