World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item up to 700 and add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upgraded for their unique stats (like an ideally made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not vary greatly post upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance, PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. A lot of weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of the base. This is usually a positive thing, but it can also have negative effects. Upgrades can make items inaccessible, unless you're very lucky.

Armor items can also be upgraded to improve their stats. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, this will increase its defense base while a belt and gloves will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike 3 times less often because it's an absolute statistic.

A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will roll an item and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's levels or tie it to the account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a a huge difference in your capacity to withstand. Certain sets offer massive increases in resistance to poison, curses and fire as well as magic. This makes it easier to navigate difficult areas. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you can get from every point of health you possess and it's crucial to improve your armor as much as possible.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four of them and each one requires you to complete a unique side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the associated fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required for each will vary. In general, you're looking at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the initial upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent upgrade. For example the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep up with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a few of your friends.

Note that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll want to concentrate on enhancing it to increase physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power if you're Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, for example the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also gain perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer However, it is beneficial to have a few upgrades of the helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past certain monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Upgrades to potion require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the Best item upgrade's rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potions, right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens a GUI in which you can select the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will give you when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total.

Once a poton is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate until you take it out again or break the bottle within the container it is stored. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. Splash potions, for instance, now have a duration zero, not the 22.5 seconds shown on the Best item upgrader hover display. The table of potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. In contrast to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the liquid and refills the bottle.

Finally, there are simmering potions that are made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were introduced, including potion of leaping, decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also refer to an object or ornament that serves a function but is not particularly important, such as a tiny thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to express affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their stats.

The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered using tokens, gold, or fragments from rare trinkets.

Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It can be done by the player for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as old one, and will include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be upgraded when they are not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an attractive alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade item their highest priority items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, then their secondaries, and finally other pieces of gear that they won't replace in the near future (for instance an earring or cloak). It is also important to consider your class's preferred stats when choosing the items to upgrade. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to a tank player and they want to upgrade their chest, helm and shoulders.

After they've become unusable, trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The upgraded trinket will give you an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade is likely to destroy the old trinket in the event that it is not salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying the new one.
